The root of the common dandelion has long prized by herbalists in the West and East for its cleansing and cooling actions. It is also packed with essential vitamins and minerals. Almost every herbal tradition has noted it as a useful tonic for the liver and gallbladder.

Traditionally, dandelion root has been used for

How to best prepare dandelion:
1 teaspoon of dandelion root per two cups of water in a covered pot, simmered for 20 minutes. One can add water to simmering pot as needed.

Please refrigerate root during hot and humid/damp months. 

Why not prepared as a tea, with just boiling water poured over it?
Dandelion is a tough root and this method will not effectively draw out all of the goodness from dandelion root.

You can also crush it in a coffee grinder or Nutribullet to a powder and add to water (water and powder drunk together in a shot) or to smoothies!
