Marshmallow root makes an excellent substitute for slippery elm bark. Slippery elm bark is an herb that is overharvested and its population in danger. Marshmallow on the other hand is easy to grow and plentiful!

Marshmallow root is commonly used in cases of

• heartburn

• acid reflux

• ulcers

• gut inflammation and healing

• providing deep hydration for tissues

• bladder and urethra irritation and infection

• internal cystitis
  

  How to prepare:

  Traditional method: 1 tsp- 1 tbsp per 2.5 c of lukewarm or cold water
  Leave this tea to sit for a minimum of four hours to overnight on the counter if the weather is cool or in the refrigerator. The resulting liquid will be mucilaginous.
  
  Some people prepare marshamallow root as a usual tea with hot water and it works well for them.
