When we bring herbs into our lives, it’s rarely about a quick fix—though sometimes, they can provide that, too. The power of herbs is much like the power of food: one yogurt or cup of coffee might help today, but it’s the patterns we build over time that create lasting change. Herbs work in the same way, opening a window of possibility into our inner world, gently inviting shifts in how we feel, think, and thrive in this life.
I now know that each herb can help us open windows into our bodies and minds. A window to what? That’s the question I encourage people to ask themselves.
🌿Do you want to open a window to feeling more peaceful in your mind and heart? Herbs can support that.
🌿More sustained energy that lasts beyond your coffee? Healthier heart function? Herbs can help you shift toward those, too.
🌿Hormones that are balanced and let you feel more like yourself? Herbs can hold and support you there.
Each plant offers an invitation: to let healing in, to release what no longer serves you, and to care for yourself in a sustainable, mindful way. You get to set the intention.
So where to start? Which herb? How often? In what form?
‘When in doubt, use nettle’, is a little joke among Western herbalists. But you're thinking, No Vicky, but what about me?
This is where you come in - Leave a comment below or send me a message about what window you’d like to open. Let’s get that convo going. Your answers will be the topic of my next post; Which Herbs and How to Begin.
Herbs don’t replace the work we do in our lives, but they can support it. Nature lending a healing hand as we create the shifts we wish to see. As you choose what to let in, consider what breeze, what change, you want to let through the window you’re opening. That awareness makes herbal medicine and care intentional and deeply empowering.
